Is it time for a change on the top of the major political party hierarchy? Has the GOP run its course; is it disintegrating before our eyes?
I for one like the party system, the give and take, the back and forth, the discourse that keeps us from going over the deep end. Although other parties exist, we have only two major parties in system. You know the direction most voter eyes go when we speak of the Libertarian, Green or Constitution parties. Some even roll their eyes when discussing the Independent vote.
But these days it seems as if the one of the major parties is losing its hold…in some cases its mind. We have every serious politician in the party distancing themselves from their last candidate for President of the United States—even his running mate is distancing himself from the “stench.”
The GOP primaries were really, really Looney Tunes and still the race was close until the end…just about every candidate was on top at some point until they ungracefully toppled from glory.
This week one of the top rightist pundits is on leave until futher notice due to his strange post-election behavior. Another elite pundit on the right is under fire for her dance with a racial slur.
A group of renegade lawmakers blocked US support of a treaty that would benefit veterans around the world much as our own laws benefit our troops at home.
Is it time for a new Party to move into the major role? The Republican Party sure looks ripe for pickin’.
