I have seen many conversations on Newsvine regarding Atheism and Christians. Christians and members of most other religions are often interested in bringing others to their faith.  As I have read the articles and comments from Atheists, I have come to believe that Atheists, too, are interested into bringing others to their way of thinking. In addition, it seems that many have come to Atheism due to the actions or beliefs of members of organized religion.  Given the wide gap between their beliefs I have often wondered is it even possible for Christians and Atheists to forge a friendship.  I believe there is a difference between a casual relationship and friendship--a relationship based on respect and tolerance rather than a true connection. So I ask the question, can Atheists and Christians ever truly be friends?
