George Zimmerman has been charged in the murder of Trayvon Martin.
I don't know how the Trayvon Martin case will work out. I just hope that at least now all of the witnesses will be heard, the evidence will be examined and the forensics analyzed. Trayvon’s parents will at least know that everything was considered and that their son was not just another statistic dying silently in the street.
I know that many have only one "just" outcome etched in their minds, but our judicial system is far from perfect. Regardless of the ultimate outcome in this case, your voice has made our system a little more just. Perhaps, Newsvine columnist, Shuklack said it best: "It's not just about what comes out in court, or what is dismissed, or what goes proven and unproven. It's about what actually happened, whether or not it is proven is unimportant...The courts alone do their best at justice, but they are faaarrr from Justice itself."
Our system is better for all of our efforts, regardless of whether or not our courts get it right this time. Continue to be diligent in the struggle for justice.
